Electronic and mechanical design and prototyping (3D printing, CAD, ECAD)

WHAT PROAMBIENTE DOES

We operate within a Research & Development environment, supported by a multidisciplinary team integrating expertise in electronics, mechanical engineering and advanced prototyping, offering the design and development of custom hardware solutions.

We approach each project with a system-level engineering perspective, analysing technical challenges from multiple viewpoints (functional, structural and manufacturing-related) to develop innovative, efficient and rapidly industrializable solutions.


E-CAD DESIGN (PCB DEVELOPMENT)

We design signal acquisition, conditioning and transmission electronics for scientific instrumentation and environmental monitoring systems: from field sensors to IoT nodes, from control electronics to industrial embedded systems.

We manage the entire electronic architecture, including power management, consumption control and integrated system diagnostics. Services include:

  • development of electrical schematics and system architectures (power supply, data acquisition, communication systems)
  • multilayer PCB layout design for analog, digital and mixed-signal applications
  • power management engineering, including switching logic, current monitoring, protection systems and diagnostics
  • optimization for signal integrity and EMC compliance in industrial and outdoor environments
  • component selection and BOM management, including qualified alternatives
  • preparation of manufacturing documentation (Gerber files, BOM, pick-and-place files, assembly notes)
  • prototype testing and functional validation

MECHANICAL CAD DESIGN

We develop parametric mechanical assemblies in direct coordination with electronic design, with a strong focus on functional integration, thermal management and manufacturability. Each project is engineered from the outset according to the intended production process and real operational conditions. Services include:

  • parametric 3D modelling and complex electromechanical assemblies
  • enclosure design with IP-rated protection levels (cable glands, sealed connectors, environmental sealing solutions)
  • structural integration of PCBs, batteries, wiring and user interfaces
  • analysis and optimization of thermal dissipation (heat sinks, ventilation, airflow chamber design)
  • Design for Manufacturing (DfM) for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, die casting and additive manufacturing
  • delivery of dimensioned technical drawings with material and finishing specifications

3D PRINTING AND RAPID PROTOTYPING

We use 3D printing as an active development tool, not as a standalone downstream phase. Each physical iteration helps reduce the risk of costly design errors in later development stages, from assembly verification to pre-series production.
