INFORMARE POR-FESR 2014-2020 project is a regional project funded by Emilia-Romagna region. Its main goal is to provide the turist industry a new high quality informatic multi-platform tool. This tool is tought both for tourists and local stakeholders and will allow a real time overview of Emilia-Romagna sea-side weather, marine and ambient conditions.

IPA/BC monitor is the solution for monitoring particulate matter (PM) emitted from traffic sources and household heating in urban environments, with a focus on priority micro pollutants (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, "PAHs", or "IPA" according to the Italian acronym) and climate forcers (black carbon, "BC"). By means of micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and other highly automatized solutions, IPA/BC-Monitor overcomes the typical problems of encumbrance and costs of offline chemical measurements of particulate matter, and includes a BC monitor integrated with a miniaturized gas chromatographic system for PAH analysis in PM

NAIADI project is funded by Emilia-Romagna’s POR-FESR 2014-2020 program, gathering 3 regional labs for technological development and innovation and 5 private companies focused on environmental monitoring into a mixed public-private partnership. The main target is to realize a new class of autonomous vehicles to study and monitor aquatic environments. Such new robot class shows very low environmental impact, taking advantage of cutting-edge technologies to collect multidisciplinary data (Geophysical, Geochemical and Environmental data) to study and monitor various contexts, as harbours, lakes, rivers, channels and coastal areas.
The project aims at developing a new aquatic “robot” class based on open hardware and software, with zero environmental impact, taking advantage of cutting-edge technologies to collect multidisciplinary data (Geophysical, Geochemical and Environmental data) to study and monitor various contexts, as harbours, lakes, rivers, channels and coastal areas. NAIADI’s partnership is willing to fill an essential gap: conventional tools are not conceived to carry on surveys in complex and difficult to access shallow water contexts. Final achievement is to build up a new Ecosystem Service for a sustainable development of all connected businesses.
Main target is to realize a fleet of USVs customizable with modular platform, based on open-source software, offering an innovative perspective to value and monitor the environments.

MEMS-GC Project aims at developing an advanced MEMS-based technology allowing the fabrication of “lab-on-a-chip” systems for gas-chromatographic analysis. A great advantage of such a “general purpose” technological platform lies in its modularity; for this reason, the proposed solution is suitable for a huge number of applicative scenarios.
The target of the Project is to demonstrate the efficiency of this technology, developing and fabricating an “ad-hoc” prototype of gas-chromatographic system for the analysis of BIOGAS/BIOMETHANE. The peculiarity of the system is given by the interconnection of the single components of the analytical module (injector, separation column and detector) through an INNOVATIVE PNEUMATICAL MANIFOLD. This solution allows to overcome the typical constrains represented by the use of conventional interconnection capillaries and fillets (fragility, high thermal sensitivity, dead volumes, assembly) and will permit the implementation of more sensitive, compact, robust, accurate and low-cost analyzers
Duration: 2017/01/01 – 2018/06/30 (18 months).

Smart bLack carbon (BC) and polycyclic aromAtic hydrocarbons (PAHs) Monitor
SLAM Project will perform a market scan, related to the introduction of a new device to monitor, near-real time, two strategic components of atmospheric particles (PM), BC and PAHs, co-emitted from the same sources and with relevant global warming and human health effects. SLAM innovation idea is to provide online measurements of both BC and PAHs to identify their main sources and variability. All tricks in one small and low-cost product designed for unattended deployment and routine PM monitoring applications, that will allow European Municipalities and Environmental Agencies to assess risks of emission sources and vulnerability of different urban districts.
